A Work As Executed certificate (WAE) is required by all councils upon completion of the construction of a storm water system. This is to ensure that the construction was done according to the engineering drawings and specifications.
Who Can Issue a Work As Executed Certificate?
Only a registered civil engineer can issue a Work As Executed certificate. However, before a civil engineer can issue a WAE certificate, an engineering survey of the installation must be carried out by a licensed surveyor.
The engineer will then review the survey, identify whether the as built system is in line with the initial design and if any discrepancies are within acceptable tolerances. If all is in order, the engineer then issues the WAE certificate.
